When one’s first thought upon seeing a photo of a recently renovated modern kitchen with recycled quartz countertops and three stools at a bar is “I wonder if the countertops and number of stools are a nod to resource shortage and the accompanying drop in fertility rates…,” one has been reading definitively too many design articles.
